REBEL SPIRIT MUSIC

Rebel Spirit Music has partnered up with Modern Vintage Recordings to produce a 12 song compilation ALBUM.  Beginning in March, MVR will be attending the monthly series to check out who we’ve got playing.  One performer from each month will be selected to have a song recorded and produced by Modern Vintage Recordings.  All production, distribution and promotion costs will be covered by Rebel Spirit Music + Modern Vintage Recordings.

Only artists who perform in the series are eligible to be chosen for the compilation album.   Look out for Rebel Spirit Music on Sonicbids and submit for the series.  Estimated release date, Jan 2011.  Singles will be released monthly.  Be sure to check back to hear some new tunes!

Quickly rising as a name to know in New York’s indie music scene, Ian Axel’s music breathes new life into ordinary chords. The musical mastermind is mesmerizing to watch on every instrument he plays, particularly the piano, as his fingers fly aggressively across the keys, pounding each note into the heart of its listeners. A returning Rebel Spirit artist, we are thrilled to have Ian join the festivities as we kick off a new year of amazing music at Rockwood, our home away from home. Fresh off the presses also comes the release of Axel’s first ever, 13-track album, “This Is The New Year,” which will make its digital debut just one day before on January 5!

THE WINDY PEARL PROJECT

Fronted by WENDY PARR, a soft, soulful folk singer who captures audiences solely with her voice prior to any instrumental introduction, The Windy Pearl Project joins the January Rebel Spirit Series to kick off the new year.  Described as blend Southern Appalachian and Celtic penchant, The Windy Pearl Project explores love, stories and improvisation in their music.  A dash of gospel and country infuse Parr’s concept, creating a unique performance and interesting sound.  Parr’s voice and style is sure to intrigue you, rounding off this Rebel Spirit Series as one not to be missed!
